It is always a privilege to be invited to a wedding for, as well as providing a backdrop to a wonderful occasion, the post ceremony celebrations often provide a platform for genuine ‘life’ humour….as I witnessed recently!Eager to impress his new in-laws to be, the groom thought he would treat his extended family to a night at the theatre, after all they were dancers, thespians and people of the arts. However, whether ‘The Circus of Horrors’ was quite the show anticipated by the ballet trained ladies of the fiance’s family, is questionable. Nevertheless the gesture was appreciated and the gathered crowd duly turned up at the theatre for an evening of anticipated entertainment. However, when it turned into something akin to a ‘freak’ show, the groom slowly felt himself sliding into his seat, fearing that he may no longer have been the family favourite. Tattooed, semi naked ladies and gents got the show off to a less than auspicious start, however, the culmination of the evening – almost certain to destroy any good reputation to date – came to pass when a naked dwarf walked on stage and proceeded to thrill an enthusiastic audience by swinging a bowling ball from his penis. Whether the ladies loved it is not entirely clear however, there is a moral to the story – always do your research before you invite corporate clients to an event, it helps to know what they like and dislike. The couple are now married and the in laws love their new ‘son’ even more than they did before the dwarf came on stage!
